Itinerary - 5 day tour to Vienna
Day 1
Group
flight to Vienna. Arrival in Vienna and introductory panoramic
tour of Vienna with a local guide.
See the splendid baroque
cupolas of the Imperial Palace, the neo-Gothic Vienna City
Hall, the slim spires of the St. Stephen's Cathedral, the
famous Opera House, the National Art Museum, Volksgarten and
much more.
Arrive at the hotel for
check-in.
Afternoon guides visit of the Imperial
Palace.
In the centre of the old city,
you can admire the splendour and magnificence of the daily
life of
the noblest family of the Habsburg monarchy at the Hofburg.
For more than seven centuries the great empire of the
Habsburgs was ruled from the Imperial Palace. The
Palace, inhabited by the imperial family until 1918, was
originally a castle built in the 13th Century. It has
later been extended to a splendid residence in accordance with
the increasing power of the Habsburgs and the expansion of
their reign. Today, the Imperial Palace houses the
office of the President of Austria.

Day 2
Morning preparation for your
lunchtime concert.
Lunchtime
concert at St. Stephen's Cathedral.
Construction of St.
Stephen's Cathedral, Austria's most eminent Gothic
edifice, was started in 1359 when the cornerstone of the
Gothic nave was laid. The South Tower (Südturm),
448 feet high, was completed in 1433 (the Viennese have given
it the nickname Steffl, which also denotes the whole
Cathedral). During the 18th Century the Cathedral was
decorated with Baroque altar pieces.

Free afternoon to explore Vienna
or hit the shops! Make time to sample a local piece of Sacher
Torte with a cup of coffee!
Free time for own dinner.

Day 3
Participate
in a Sunday Mass at a local Viennese church.
Afterwards, enjoy a "dead
composer's tour" of Vienna.
Free time for lunch and own
sightseeing. Perhaps join the locals at the Nashmarkt
(flea market) or at the Prater amusement park with it's
famous giant Ferris wheel.
Late afternoon coach tour
around Vienna, Wienerwald, Grinzing and other vine-growing
villages around the city. Visit a Heuriger for wine
tasting and dinner.

Day 4
Morning excursion to
Schönbrunn, Empress "Sissi's" former summer
residence.
Schönbrunn is
considered to be one of the most beautiful baroque palaces in
Europe. The Habsburgs resided here for the better part
of the summer. Emperor Franz Joseph (1848 - 1916), who
later married the enchanting Sissi, was born here in
1830. The monarch spent his last years entirely in the
palace, which became the property of the new Republic of
Austria only two years after his death. Today, the
palace is part of UNESCO's cultural heritage.
Concert Opportunity to
participate in Voices of the World on the steps of
Schönbrunn - famous location for choirs from all over the
world to come and perform (May-September). Alternative
for Easter - participate in the Easter Market at
Schönbrunn.
After visiting the palace
itself, some time should be spent wandering through the
beautiful park, visiting the Palm House, or climbing to
the famous Gloriette.
Transfer back into town.
Rehearsal for concert and light dinner.
Evening Friendship Concert.
Perform together with a local choir to a local audience.
After the concert, opportunity to get to know the host choir
members and audience.

Day 5
Transfer back to Vienna
Airport and group flight back home.
